Our training philosophy

A holistic view of the athlete

At Total Athlete, we believe in you as a complete athlete. You will need to adjust your training to fit into your daily life.

Training for an endurance event, such as a marathon or triathlon, requires a gradual buildup of training stress. It's not only important to become physically stronger but also mentally, because those who are able to overcome pain and setbacks are the ones who ultimately reach the finish line. With my experience, I will help you achieve your training goals, no matter what event you have in mind.

Choose the package that suits your ambitions.

Do you want to improve and receive personal adjustments every month? Then choose the coaching package. Each package includes a highly balanced training schedule and plenty of personal attention.

What can you expect?

I am focused on making you better. I use the TrainingPeaks platform for this. Your schedules are ready and clearly organized there, and we communicate via the chat function.

Intake

We start with a physical or phone meeting. You tell me everything I need to know to start with your athletic challenge. This forms the beginning of the coaching and the training plan.

Connect Training
Peaks

You will then receive a link to your TrainingPeaks account. Your personal schedule will be placed there. You will clearly see what and how to train. You will link it to my account, allowing us to communicate with each other through this app.

Follow your training


The "structured" training sessions that I write, you can... Link to your smartwatch, bike computer, and ZwiftThis way, you only need to press 'start' to begin training. The workout steps guide you through the session. Read the training description beforehand, so you know the intention of what you need to do and why.

Track your progress


In the TrainingPeaks app, you can track how your training is going. This keeps you organized with your plans. You can indicate when your next race is. And for each training, you can report how it went. This provides me as a coach with a lot of feedback to adjust accordingly.

Discuss your progress

Discuss your questions and your progress. You can schedule this yourself via... My scheduleThe coaching conversation is the moment to share your feelings about the training. And, if necessary, adjust training, zones, and intensity. We zoom out and look at your progress from a distance. Are we on the right track?
