Endurance run Groningen – Assen

ARE YOU JOINING THE LONG RUN? 🏃♂
Only 5 weeks left until the TT Marathon!
Hopefully, everyone is feeling motivated again and ready to rock on November 16.
Yesterday, I (Christel) walked from Assen to Hoogeveen—a beautiful route, but to be honest, it was also quite lonely walking alone for so long. So... I thought:
Next week, we'll do it together!
On Sunday, October 19, there will be a long endurance run of 3 hours. Perfect for covering distance together, motivating each other, and simply enjoying a long run.
🟢 The plan:
🚆 We will take the train to Groningen at 8:37 a.m.
🏃♀ We will run back to Assen, covering a beautiful loop of approximately 3 hours in total.
🕕 Pace: approximately 6:00 min/km
(If you would like to run a little faster or slower, that is certainly possible—we will decide together!)
🔁 After a 30-minute warm-up, we will speed up for 1 minute every 10 minutes — just to stimulate the heart and mind — and then return to a steady pace.
It's not about speed, but about "time on your feet": getting your body used to longer periods of exertion.
Do you live in Groningen or the surrounding area? Then you can of course start there and take the train back afterwards.

There are no costs involved (only your own train ticket).
Everyone is welcome, even if you are not participating in the TT Marathon but just feel like a fun, long endurance run.
